Exciting times – PinkBox Boutique has a new HQ! We’ve just moved into a beautiful new unit in a beautiful rural location in Coate, near Devizes.
The Old Dairy is part of Manor Farm and the views out of the windows are incredible – Harriet and I feel very lucky. We’ve got two large ponds out the back and the yard is teeming with wildlife. Dave is the resident Goose and he has two Muscovy Duck mates (as yet un-named….I feel a competition coming on).
Dave thinks he’s actually a Mum and kidnapped one of the Muscovy Ducks as a duckling and reared it as his own. Both ducks now follow him everywhere. Although he still occasionally hisses at us, he has become a regular visitor and stops by daily knocking at the door to let us know he’s about. We’ve already become very fond of Dave. Other permanent yard residents include some beautiful chickens, a couple of noisy cockerels and a small rasp (official term apparently) of guinea fowl. They just wander around as they wish. Leaving the door open can cause problems as Angela found out the other day when she managed to lock an inquisitive chicken the wrong side of our front door! Steve, the Farm Yard owner had to let it out a little while later.
We’ve also seen a heron, numerous other species of ducks, doves, moor hen, swans, a pheasant and rabbits. Mr & Mrs Mallard who live on the back pond are currently nursing 7 very cute baby ducks. Only today, Dave was entertaining a couple of visiting mates – a pair of Canada Geese. Plenty to keep us entertained in our breaks!
Whilst we’ve been gazing out of our windows doing our spotting bit, Chris (my other half) has been busy building us a fully racked out store room (affectionately known as ‘the warehouse’ – I like to think big…but it really isn’t). Quite frankly I think I’ve worn him out – we’ve had a few late nights this week. Harriet has also moved her Twirly Girl Photography business in with us and is using one end of the building as a Studio – it’s the space she always wanted and PinkBox Boutique will benefit from having all its image production done on site now.
There will of course be an official opening but in the meantime, do pop in and see us. We will shortly be offering a free order collection service from Coate and we will always be happy to see anyone who wants to drop in and have a good look at our range. Just give us a ring or email us before you come down so we can ensure someone is here to put the kettle on for you!
