Safety & Burning Tips
We have chosen a range of candles that we know delivery efficient burning and excellent fragrance throw. To ensure you get the maximum results from yours whilst maintaining safety at all times please follow these simple but effective user instructions.
Burn with safety
Always burn your candle on a level heat resistant surface and away from flammable objects and other sources of heat and draughts.
Keep candles away from children and pets and never leave a candle unattended whilst lit. Always leave a minimum of 10cm between any burning candles.
Never handle a candle whilst in use. Wait until the wax has cooled and hardened before moving.
Don’t drop matches or other debris into the wax.
For maximum results burn your candle for 2-4 hours at a time. After this period, allow the wax to cool and solidify before re-lighting. This helps to maintain the life of your candle giving you a full and consistent fragrance throw throughout burning.
Keep your wicks short
Keep your wick trimmed to 3-5mm at all times. This also applies to the first time you light your candle and then trim your wick before each burn. Ensure that any wick trimmings are removed before lighting the candle. Use a wick trimmer where possible.
Lighting and extinguishing the candle
Use a long-barrelled gas lighter where possible as they do not leave any black residue which matches can. You’ll find it easier to ignite the wicks as the wax reduces, down the candle jar. Use a candle snuffer to gently extinguish each flame.
Let the wax pool
Each time you burn your candle allow the entire top layer to become a pool of liquid wax. This creates the best fragrance throw available, keeps your wicks burning with a consistent flame and helps to avoid tunnelling (wax residue left at the sides of a candle jar). It is actually the melted pool of wax that creates most of the fragrance throw!
